Drain Basket D1 Retention System for Plastic Pellets – 70 µm Complete Set

Compact Protection for Shallow Industrial Drains Under EU Regulation 2025/2365

Where space and depth are limited, precision matters. Our drain basket set D1 with a 70 µm micron rating was developed specifically for shallow, compact catch basins (Form D per DIN 4052). It gives industrial operators a technically mature way to implement EU Regulation 2025/2365 in a legally compliant manner, even where conventional retention systems are too deep or too wide. This specialised plastic pellet retention system protects your site against microplastic emissions.

Model D1 answers the challenges found in outdoor areas close to production or specialised logistics zones. As an integral part of your Operation Clean Sweep strategy, this fine filter reliably prevents plastic pellets or abrasion from reaching the environment via surface drainage.

Application Areas: Compact & Shallow

Model D1 (Ø 395 mm, shallow depth) is the first choice for specialised drainage points, particularly in sectors such as Transport & Logistics and Civil Engineering & Landscaping:

  • Shallow drainage channels in loading halls.
  • Compact catch basins on paved industrial areas in the Chemicals & Raw Materials sector.
  • Point drainage with limited shaft depth for plant in Energy & the Environment.
  • Retrofitting existing systems with limited installation height.

Sealing and Installation Within the Winkler System

Even in this shallow design, we rely on a stable mechanical barrier. The Winkler system for Form D1 uses targeted fixing:

  1. Precision-fit manufacturing: The 70 µm high-performance fabric is dimensionally cut to match the D1 drain basket (Ø 395 mm, H 325 mm).
  2. Industrial fixing: A reinforced drawstring presses the filter tightly against the bucket body, making it mechanically harder for pellets to pass through uncontrolled.
  3. Important note on retention performance: Since this filter is made without an integrated collar, full bypass-freedom cannot be guaranteed. However, incoming water is largely directed through the fine filter fabric, effectively minimising pellet loss.

FAQ – Slotted Bucket D1 Granulate Retention System 70 µm

Important details regarding the securing of shallow compact gullies (Type D) according to DIN 4052.

What is the difference between the slotted bucket C3 and D1?

+
Both models have a nominal diameter of approx. 300 mm for compact gully pots. The difference lies in the overall height: The D1 is the shallow version (Form D according to DIN 4052) for shafts with low installation depth, while the C3 is designed for deeper compact gully pots.

Is the filtering capacity of the flat D1 bucket sufficient for heavy rainfall?

+
Yes. Despite its flat design, the 70 µm fabric offers a high flow rate. As we do not use a bypass, the system prioritizes environmental protection. The filter surface is designed to efficiently drain the water while retaining 100% of the granulate.

Can the D1 filter get clogged?

+
Like any filter system, the D1 also requires regular maintenance. Due to the fine 70 µm mesh size, organic matter such as leaves or sludge is also filtered out. Regular inspection of the flat slotted buckets is therefore recommended to maintain full drainage performance.

How robust is the drawstring system on the flat version?

+
We use the same high-performance industrial drawstring for all models, including the flat D1. It is UV-stable, chemical-resistant, and ensures that the filter collar remains firmly fixed to the rim of the bucket even under high water pressure.

Is the system suitable for audits according to EU Regulation 2025/2365?

+
Absolutely. Installing technical barriers with a defined filter fineness of 70 µm is a recognized measure to prevent pellet loss. The D1 set provides you with the necessary proof for seamless site security.
