Two forms, two jobs, one range
For centrifuges there is a 25 micron version for finer retention and a high-throughput version built around liquid drainage and the handling of components. The filter discs are polypropylene and come in 10, 40 and 100 micron. Standard sizes can be ordered directly; anything else we check against a drawing, a sample or the installation itself.

Solid-liquid separation by centrifugation: what actually happens
Industrial solid liquid separation works in two ways in this category, and the difference decides which product you need.
A centrifuge separates by rotation. Centrifugal force pushes the liquid outwards through the basket wall while the solids stay behind. Solid liquid separation by centrifugation is therefore a surface process with a direction: the active filter area is the side wall, and the base of a bag mainly carries the load. Liquid solid centrifugation and centrifuge solid liquid separation describe the same operation from different directions.
A nutsche filter or a disc filter separates across a supported surface. The liquid is drawn or pushed through by vacuum or pressure, the whole area is active, and the medium rests fully on a support.
That is why a textile centrifuge insert cannot be replaced by a filter disc, or the other way round. Selection begins with the machine, not with the filter medium.
Solid-liquid filtration and separation technology: where a textile medium sits in the process
Solid liquid filtration is not one method but a family of them. Sedimentation, centrifugation, pressure filtration in a chamber filter press and vacuum filtration on a flat surface all separate the same mixture with different forces and different results in cake dryness, throughput and effort.

The difference between a centrifuge and a filter press is not one of quality but of duty. A centrifuge works in short cycles and tends to leave a comparatively dry solid; a filter press takes large batch volumes and builds a defined cake at pressure. Which suits your process depends on batch size, solids content and what you want out of the separation, so there is no general ranking between them and this page does not offer one.
What is common to all of them, and what matters most in practice: the cake filters. After a short running time the solids layer that has built up takes over a growing share of the separation. The fabric mainly decides how quickly that layer forms and how easily it releases again. That is why the micron figure on a filter medium describes the medium and not the outcome of your process.

The machine and the filter medium are not the same thing
This distinction is worth stating plainly, because most of the search volume around this category is looking for equipment.
Terms like industrial centrifuge, basket centrifuge, filter centrifuge, bag centrifuge, solid liquid centrifuge, centrifugal solid liquid separator, disc filter, rotary disc filter, vacuum disc filter and cloth disc filter all describe complete machines. If that is what you need, the plant manufacturer is the right address.
What we supply is what runs inside them: centrifuge filter media, centrifuge filter cloth, filter media for centrifuges, and the round discs for nutsche filters and disc filters. Word order carries the meaning here: a disc filter cloth is a textile medium, a cloth disc filter is an installation.
No general suitability for a given machine type follows from that. Basket dimensions, rim form, fastening, speed, load and medium have to suit the part.
Choosing between the two centrifuge liners
Both products go into a centrifuge basket as a filter bag, but they do not solve the same problem.

The standard sizes do not overlap. Below Ø 400 mm the 25 micron version is the range; from Ø 400 mm the high-throughput version takes over. In many enquiries the basket diameter settles the choice before the grade ever comes up.
How to read the micron figures
The micron figure describes the grade of the filter material fitted to that particular product. It is not a guaranteed absolute separation limit. Actual particle retention also depends on particle shape, medium, operating conditions, installation and cake formation. The figures 25, 150, 10, 40 and 100 belong to two different forms with different installation situations and are deliberately not shown as one scale.
Filter discs for nutsche filters and disc filters
The round polypropylene filter discs are used as a textile insert in nutsche filters, disc filters and comparable industrial filter units. Outer and inner diameter, the grade and the actual seating and sealing face decide the selection.

If you need a different diameter, a different inner opening or additional contours, the discs can be laser-cut to drawing or to a sample. Besides circular shapes, holes, slots, elongated cut-outs and segment forms are possible, depending on material, geometry and technical feasibility.
A well-fitting cut can reduce the risk of rim and bypass flow, but it does not guarantee sealing on its own. Filter plate, clamping, sealing faces, support, differential pressure and assembly all play a part. Reuse is equally process-dependent: before a further use, the fabric, contour and filter effect have to be checked for damage, deformation and blinded areas.
Putting a filter medium into an existing plant
Record the machine and the installation. Basket, filter plate, seating face, openings and fastening are measured.
Set out the process data. Medium, solids, particle distribution, temperature, mechanical load and the drainage you want determine the material and product choice.
Fit the medium. The centrifuge liner is positioned in the basket; the filter disc lies on the filter surface or its support.
Watch the running process. Particle retention, filtrate, cake formation, blinding and mechanical condition show whether size and material suit the duty.
Decide on change or reuse. Further use depends on the product, the cleaning, the material condition and your own requirements.
Centrifuge filter media as a spare part
Industrial centrifuge filter bag assemblies are wear parts. They are changed after a certain number of batches because the material is worked mechanically, blinds off, or gives way at the seams and the rim.
For replacement the question is therefore less the grade than the fit. If you are reordering centrifuge filter media, keep the part you removed: a cleaned old liner is the most reliable basis for a fitting copy, more reliable than any measurement taken later on an installed basket.

Make-up and quantity: hole pattern, slots, cut-outs, fastening, drawstring, straps, quantity and required delivery date.

When do I choose the 25 micron centrifuge liner?

Does 25, 40, 100 or 150 micron mean a guaranteed particle limit?
No. The micron figure describes the grade of the filter material fitted in each case. Actual retention also depends on particle shape, particle distribution, medium, installation, operating practice and cake formation. For critical separations a trial on the real medium is worth more than the number.
Do you supply the centrifuge, the nutsche filter or the disc filter?
No. WINKLER makes the textile filter media that go into an existing machine. Complete units, whether a basket centrifuge, a nutsche filter, a rotary disc filter or a cloth disc filter installation, come from the plant manufacturer.
Can filter discs be made in special shapes and reused?
With our laser systems, other diameters plus additional holes, slots, elongated cut-outs and segment forms are possible where material and geometry allow. Reuse depends on the process, the cleaning and the condition of the disc. Standard sizes and grades are on the product page.
What is the high-throughput filter bag for?
For parts centrifuges and comparable processes where liquid should drain quickly and components or coarser solids should stay in the bag. The straps are for placing and moving it; the actual load and handling have to suit your own safety assessment. The four standard sizes are on the product page.
Are the centrifuge bags suitable for every centrifuge?
A blanket release for every centrifuge is not possible. Basket dimensions, rim and base form, fastening, speed, load, medium and mechanical stress have to suit the part. For different baskets we check a custom version.
How do I measure a filter disc for a nutsche or disc filter?
At minimum the outer and inner diameter. Record the seating face, the sealing area, any further openings, slots or cut-outs, and the grade you want. A drawing or a sample disc reduces the risk of a dimensional error the most.
