Infiltration Shaft Filter Bag for Rainwater Filtration & Soakaways (DN1000–DN2500)

Efficient Surface Drainage and Sustainable Groundwater Protection

Sealed surfaces such as car parks, industrial sites and logistics centres collect a wide range of pollutants: tyre wear, microplastics, fine particulates, leaves and litter. Without pre-treatment, these particles pass straight into the ground or downstream soakaway systems.

The WINKLER infiltration shaft filter bag is a highly effective, cost-efficient solution for rainwater filtration. It reliably removes solids from stormwater before it soaks into the ground – with no extensive modifications to your existing shaft system.

You'll find further solutions for municipal applications in our Filtration for Transport & Logistics – road drainage & rainwater range.

Two-Layer Filter System for Maximum Cleaning Performance

The filter system consists of two matched layers of polypropylene needle felt, combining coarse and fine filtration in a single product:

  • Inner filter (coarse structure): Retains leaves, litter and coarse sediment
  • Outer filter (fine structure): Removes the finest particles down to 80 µm

This combination extends service life and secures the shaft's long-term infiltration performance.

DWA-Compliant Rainwater Treatment

The filter bag achieves a pass-through value of 0.5 in accordance with DWA-M 153 and DWA-A 138 (German technical standards). This helps municipalities, planners and industrial companies meet applicable water-management requirements.

It's particularly well suited to projects in:

Easy Installation and Maintenance (DN1000 – DN2500)

Thanks to sturdy loops around the rim, the filter bag can be fitted quickly and securely in the infiltration shaft.

  • Fast changes: Lift out via the loops and a pull rope – no special tools required
  • Precise fit: Available for DN1000, DN1500, DN2000, DN2500
  • Custom sizes: Made to order on request

Matching Accessories for Secure Installation

For a permanently stable, secure fit, we recommend the specially matched infiltration shaft filter bag mounting kit. The system enables fast initial installation and especially efficient filter changes via carabiner hooks and heavy-duty anchors. The galvanised components stay in the shaft permanently, making maintenance significantly easier.

FAQ – Infiltration Shaft Filter Bag for Rainwater and Soakaways

Common Questions About Rainwater Filtration in Infiltration Shafts

The infiltration shaft filter bag reliably removes solids from rainwater before it reaches soakaways or infiltration systems. This keeps infiltration systems working over the long term and reduces maintenance effort and sludge build-up.

What is an infiltration shaft filter bag used for?

+
An infiltration shaft filter bag is installed in soakaway shafts to retain dirt particles, microplastics and organic residue from rainwater. This prevents pollutants from reaching the ground or downstream infiltration systems.

Typical application areas include car parks, industrial areas, commercial sites and paved yard areas.

Which particles does the infiltration shaft filter bag retain?

+
The filter bag retains both coarse contamination such as leaves or litter and fine dirt particles down to around 80 µm. Its two-layer filter system reliably separates different particle sizes.

This improves water quality and protects soakaways and infiltration systems from clogging.

Which shaft sizes does the filter bag suit?

+
The infiltration shaft filter bag is available for common shaft sizes such as DN1000, DN1500, DN2000 and DN2500. Custom sizes are also available, so the filter bag fits exactly into existing shafts.

A precision fit ensures a secure hold and even flow.

How is a seepage pit filter bag installed?

+
The filter bag is secured in the infiltration shaft via sturdy loops. Installation takes just a few steps and requires no structural changes to the shaft.

To change it, the filter bag is simply lifted out with a rope or hook and replaced.

How often does an infiltration shaft filter bag need changing?

+
Replacement intervals depend on the level of contamination and rainfall volume. For heavily loaded areas such as car parks or industrial yards, more frequent replacement may be needed.

Changing the bag in good time ensures infiltration performance is maintained and no build-up forms in the shaft.
