Winkler Filtertechnik GmbH, based in Werther in East Westphalia, is a German manufacturer of industrial filters, filter fleeces, and technical filter textiles . For over 50 years, we have been developing and producing filter solutions for industry, environmental technology, and mechanical engineering.

Our expertise in filter technology
For more than five decades, we have been developing technical filter solutions for industrial applications. We combine textile manufacturing with practical experience from a wide variety of industrial sectors.
Our product range encompasses a wide variety of filter products – from classic filter bags and filter cloths to filter fleeces and specialized solutions such as anode bags, cathode filters, and activated carbon filter systems. Filter systems for rainwater harvesting systems, industrial processes, and sludge dewatering are also part of our daily work.

Family business with over 50 years of experience
Alfred Winkler founded the company in Bielefeld in 1969.
Since then, Winkler Filtertechnik has continuously evolved:
1969 – Founded in Bielefeld
1976 – Expansion of production
1992 – Relocation to the current location
1995 – Participation in the project “Wrapped Reichstag”
2002 – Christiane Schröer and Dr. Dirk Schröer are appointed managing directors
2004 – Introduction of laser cutting technology
2011 – Expansion of laser cutting as a service
2014 – Expansion of storage capacities
2021 – Launch of the online shop
2022 – Installation of a photovoltaic system
2025 – Mats Schröer joins the company
Today the company is managed by Dr. Dirk Schröer, Christiane Schröer and Mats Schröer .
Dr. Dirk Schröer holds a doctorate in chemistry and possesses in-depth scientific and technical expertise in filter technology and industrial process engineering. In addition to his work at Winkler Filtertechnik, he is the managing director and owner of arrandee metal GmbH + Co. KG in Werther, a company specializing in technical metal coatings and thin-film materials for scientific and industrial applications.
Christiane Schröer is a trained textile engineer and contributes her professional expertise particularly in the areas of technical textiles, filter materials and textile manufacturing .
As early as 1995, she was involved in the project to wrap the Reichstag in Berlin by the artist couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude . She was responsible for quality control of the fabric used. The internationally acclaimed project, which attracted several million visitors, placed particularly high demands on material quality and textile workmanship.
With Mats Schröer already working in the company, the next generation is involved. He holds a master's degree in psychology and supports the company's further development, particularly in organizational and strategic areas. This ensures the long-term continuation of the family business.
By combining scientific background, textile expertise and decades of practical experience, Winkler Filtertechnik combines technical competence with practical solutions.
