Granular Retention System 70 µm | EU 2025/2365 compliant | Winkler
Efficient Prevention of Pellet Loss According to EU Regulation 2025/2365
Preventing microplastic emissions is no longer just a matter of responsibility for the plastics processing industry but a legal obligation. With EU Regulation 2025/2365, industrial companies are required to technically prevent the loss of plastic pellets via surface drainage. Our specialized retention system with a filter fineness of 70 µm offers the ideal solution for this.
Whether in loading zones, silo parking areas, or production-adjacent yard drains – our ready-to-install slotted bucket sets and retrofit filters stop particles directly at the source. This way, you legally secure your site and meet the stringent technical requirements for audits such as Operation Clean Sweep (OCS).
The Winkler Principle: Maximum Sealing without "Bypass"
In industrial filtration, a filter is only as good as its seal. Many standard solutions fail because granules slip between the edge of the bucket and the shaft wall – the so-called "bypass."
Our system relies on mechanical forced guidance:
- Integrated Collar: The dimensionally stable 70 µm fabric features a collar that is slipped flush over the rim of the slotted bucket.
- Industrial Drawstring: A reinforced drawstring securely fastens the filter to the bucket body.
- Zero-Bypass Guarantee: We deliberately forgo an emergency overflow. All incoming water is forcibly guided through the fine filter fabric, preventing any uncontrolled granules from entering the sewer system.
Perfect Fit for all Gully Grates according to DIN 4052
To ensure seamless granule retention across the entire factory premises, we offer our system for all common designs. Each set consists of a robust slotted bucket and the pre-assembled 70 µm high-performance filter.
Overview of available models:

Sustainability and Economic Efficiency through Retrofitting
At Winkler Filtertechnik, we focus on long-lasting solutions. If you already have stable slotted buckets according to DIN 4052, you don't need to replace them. Our 70 µm retrofit filter can be ordered individually and integrated into your existing stock with just a few simple steps. This saves costs and conserves resources, while simultaneously ensuring full conformity with the new EU legislation – a decisive advantage for sectors such as Energy & Environment, Chemistry & Raw Materials, and Civil Engineering & Landscaping.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about pellet retention
Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions.
The regulation obliges companies that handle plastic pellets to take technical measures to prevent microplastics from entering the environment. Our 70 µm retention systems are a recognized technical barrier to implement these legal requirements directly in the drainage infrastructure.
This depends on the design of your gully. Standard road gullies usually have a diameter of 450 mm (Model A4 or B1). More compact gullies in halls or narrow courtyards often use the 300 mm size (Model C3 or D1). We would be happy to advise you by telephone on how to correctly determine your stock.
The high-performance polymer we use has a very high open screen area, which allows for an excellent flow rate despite the fine mesh size. Regular cleaning of the bucket from leaves and sediments ensures that drainage performance is maintained even during heavy rainfall.
Yes, sustainability is important to us. You can order the 70 µm filters individually as retrofit or replacement filters. This way, you don't have to replace the entire set (bucket + filter) if the fabric is worn out after many years of intensive use.
OCS requires proof of technical containment measures at all potential escape routes. By installing our bypass-free filters, you demonstrate to auditors the highest degree of technical diligence in preventing pellet loss.
